Loving God

The greatest commandment that Christ left us in Luke 10:27 is, “Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and muscle and intelligence and that you love your neighbour as well as you do yourself” (Message Bible). At Empower Church, loving God is our greatest value. In every aspect, of every department, location and service, you will find people who love God passionately and vibrantly. We believe in being sold out and fully devoted to living a life for Jesus in everything that you do.

Sharing our faith

Our church exists so others may live!
You were born to multiply both naturally and spiritually, and that is implicit in the DNA of Empower Church. Genesis 1:28 says, “and God blessed them and said be fruitful and multiply…” Every living thing that God has created contains the seed of multiplication. The Kingdom of God has multiplication at its core and you are encouraged to integrate this value into every aspect of your life. Sharing your Faith boldly is being courageous and obedient to the Holy Spirit. Acts 4:29 “…grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word…” Your approach to evangelism may be different to the next person. At Empower Church, you will be equipped and empowered to lead people to Christ through your best style of relational evangelism.

Empowering Leaders, Families, and Generations

Leadership is in the core of every facet of church life. The underlying principle of leadership is multiplication. You can participate in a culture where individuals, leaders, Urban Connections and departments are multiplied. The church functions best when you are winning, discipling or leading others! This creates multiplication. Our drive is to see you equipped & empowered in leadership, fulfilling your purpose and destiny, seeing increase and multiplication of God’s Kingdom and your personal life. Being self-led is the foundation for Servant Leadership at Empower Church. Our leadership model consists of Servant leaders, Core leaders and Demographic Leaders, which include our department heads and point pastors. Pathways for your leadership development include: Empowering Leaders (apprenticeship model), Internship (1 year intensive), location leadership nights and group mentoring sessions with Pastor David McDonald and the senior leadership team. We are a church that empowers all generations and values people of all ethnicity. Your generation has a specific contribution to make, which adds life and growth to the church. Numerous ministries throughout the week, offer services that cater to your age demographic and are generationally relevant: Urban Kidz ministry (ages 1 -12), Switch Youth ministry (high schoolers), Crave Young Adults ministry (school leavers – uni students) Young families, 4her ministry, Marketplace and age specific Urban Connections. Strong families are the foundation of a generational church. We celebrate family, which is the core of society. Strong families build strong churches; which build strong communities; which build strong cities; which build a strong nation. At Empower Church we are very intentional about seeing generational transfer. Ps 145:4 “Generation after generation stands in awe of your work; each one tells stories of your mighty acts.” (Message Bible) We believe in creating wholeness in every generation and family through God’s love and His Word.
