Who We Are

The History

Pastors David and Tricia McDonald moved to Sydney with the vision of Christian Outreach Centre burning in their hearts – Australia for Christ. God had given them a strategy to build apostolic churches that would impact cities and influence people. In March 2005, Sydney Christian Outreach Centre was born with two locations, Macquarie & The Hills with just over 100 people.

God continued to gather a team of people from all across Australia who shared this same passion and in 2006 Penrith joined the Sydney COC circuit. By 2008 Macarthur and The Shire locations has joined Sydney COC as well.

In April 2010 Sydney COC was granted the management lease of The Hills Centre in Castle Hill. The Hills and Macquarie congregations united and moved in, and have met regularly since. Pastors Jack and Ashya McDonald became Lead Pastors.
On 23rd January 2011 Sydney COC officially changed its name to Empower Church.

As the vision continues to unfold, on January 29th 2012 Empower Church planted a location into the city of Adelaide and welcomes Baycoast COC as Empower Church Redlands in Queensland.

The Hills Centre
